Seven Bridges Walk

Bridge 1: Sydney Harbour Bridge (4 km)

Last weekend Emily and I took part in the Seven Bridges Walk which is an annual charity event comprising a 27 km stroll in a big loop around Sydney harbour. As the perceptive among you may have guessed, one crosses seven bridges along the way. Thankfully it was a little cooler than it has been in recent times with temperatures only reaching a pleasant 23-24C so things were certainly nowhere near as painful as they could have been.

Bridge 2: Pyrmont Bridge (7 km)

Bridge 3: ANZAC Bridge (10 km)

Bridge 4: Iron Cove Bridge (14 km)

View from Bridge 5: Gladesville Bridge (17 km)

The first 20-odd kms were no problem but then the bridges became rubbish and then they ran out leaving 8 km still to go through hilly Lane Cove to the finish. In these final sections of the course things started to hurt a little. The soles of my feet mainly. Turned out when I got home that I had huge blisters all over the bottom of my feet which resulted in much hobbling about at work this week. It's been a little like having a pair of built in Air Jordans but only much less comfortable. All fixed up now though so no worries.

Bridge 6: Tarban Creek Bridge (18 km)

Bridge 7: Fig Tree Bridge (19 km)
