Plane spotting

There are a lot of advantages to spotting planes as opposed to going after the birds. They're bigger and easier to see and they tend to reliably turn up round airports. There are also not too many different kinds and so 10 minutes at the new observation platform next to the domestic runway will get most of the Australia list.

In recent times it's been too hot or too wet or too something to do anything of note so I haven't really. Work is particularly stressed at the moment as they got rid of a third of the workforce the other week. Fortunately I've survived again but obviously morale has taken a hit once more and there are 110 poor folks out there struggling to find jobs.

I've also been diagnosed with a cataract in my dodgy eye. It's a known possible side-effect from prolonged use of steroid drops and I guess the few years that I've been using them counts as prolonged. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though as the operation is very straight forward and they even do it under a local anaesthetic. The synthetic lens that they put in to replace the bad one can also be made to a prescription so it's like having specs built in to your eye. Sounds good to me!

Heading into Autumn now so hopefully things might cool down, dry up, and I'll be able to get out and about a bit more. But then again, there's a wedding to organise...
