Leftover prawns

We had a few prawns left in the freezer and so we decided to head just over the Harbour Bridge to the Middle Harbour to use them up on the end of our fishing lines. A big bag of frozen prawns from the supermarket is way better than buying specific bait prawns as they're cheaper, meatier, and stay on the hook better. The fish seem to like them too.

Fishing the Middle Harbour

One of the great things about fishing in the sea round here is that with the same set-up and bait you can catch any number of different species of fish. This time the baby Snappers made their usual appearance along with a Smooth Toadfish and a little Slimy Mackerel. The catches of the day, however, were a couple of Fanbelly Leatherjackets, one of which was a pretty decent size!
